Notice of Closure/ The Omiya Bonsai Art Museum
More information regarding the closure will be provided as soon as possible.
-Reason for Closure: The bonsai displays and guest areas will be improved in order to combat the increased frequency of extreme heat in recent years.

Here are some inquiries we the Tourism Bureau received from overseas;
-The museum shop and cooperative shop in the back of the museum are also CLOSED during the museum’s closure.
-Items sold at the museum shop are NOT sold online.
– Surrounding bonsai gardens/nurseries in the village are remain OPEN during the closure (Except Thursdays).
-Other things you may be interested during your visit;
1. Getting a pictorial postmark (Fukei-in 風景印) stamped at the Omiya Bonsai-cho Post Office (WEEKDAY ONLY). If you buy a postcard (85 yen) at the counter, you can get it postmarked with the design of a bonsai tree and cherry blossoms with the Kanji “Saitama Omiya Bonsai Cho(Town)” and the date of your visit. 2. Looking for manholes with bonsai designs! Known as the “Town of Bonsai”, some manholes in the Omiya area are designed with bonsai trees.
3. Autumn foliage in Saitama will begin soon. The red or yellow leaves will be beautiful when the autumn foliage peaks on the Hikawa Sando approach near the Omiya Bonsai Village. The best time to view the leaves is usually from the end of November to the beginning of December.
